Day 17 of the 30 Paintings in 30 Days Challenge - "Sunset Through the Woods"

This piece was inspired by a painting I made at a fabulous workshop at Asylum Hill Congregational Church last year. Instead of using watercolors, like the original painting, I used watered down acrylics to paint the background. I liked the way the canvas texture showed through the paint, but wanted a different effect for the trees, so I used fiber past to build up the trees and give them a rougher treelike texture before I painted them.

This painting is one of 30 that I am producing this month as part of Leslie Seata's 30 Paintings in 30 Days Challenge. All of my paintings, for the challenge, are painted on 5" x 7" canvas board. I am selling them, unframed, for $95 plus shipping/handling of $9.99 (in the continental U.S.), and CT sales tax, if you are a resident of CT. If you are interested in purchasing one of my paintings, please send me an e-mail at LoriRacicot@gmail.com.
